St. Johns has a high tech way of tracking patients and updating thier families. They give you a pager (similar to that of a restaurant would for seating). The pager has a range of 2 miles and lets you know when your family member is in their room.
They also asign a number to the patient (47645 is Kendra's number) and then post updates on a large plasma screen in the waiting room.
